A friend of mine recently introduced me to YouVersion Bible app for my Smart phone. I can't believe how good it is, as it not only makes available many different Bible translations and languages, but also a variety of daily reading plans.  They can also send you a reminder to do your reading, and they have a badge incentive scheme to encourage you to read everyday. There is also a facility to make notes of what God has said to you through your reading. So no excuses now, the tools are there for us, ready to be used. Getting into the habit of daily listening to God's Word can, and will change your life - and the good news is that it is FREE! Of course you can make a donation if you are able and willing. Men's Quiz and Curry night - Friday 28 October 2011

Between 110 and 120 men attended and we have had nothing but positive feedback. Paul was given a good hearing as he exhorted the men to “cling to what is good and hate what is evil” – a message very relevant for the times in which we live and especially this Halloween weekend.

Please continue to pray for the seed that has been sown in these men’s hearts, that it will bring forth fruit – fruit that will last. We may plant and another may water but it is God himself who gives the increase.

'Interlink' the Glasgow Mission Group serving Brethren Missionaries worldwide organised a Men's Breakfast at the Shawlands Hotel near Larkhall on Saturday 22 October 2011 at which CMT were exhibiting. The event was sold out with 80 men being present from churches over a wide area. A good breakfast and good chat was enjoyed by all, after which there was a seminar on Evangelism. Stephen Grant gave the main talk and this was followed by group discussions on various aspects of evangelism.  A sample of the questions discussed were - What is Mission? Has fear replaced faith? How important is methodology? etc.

Particpants were urged to return to their churches to re examine the effectiveness of their evangelism strategy in reaching men and women with the good news of Jesus in 2011.

Greenview Men's Group organised a good night out at the ten pin bowling on Friday 21 October. Fifteen guys met at the Quay Bowling Alley. We used three rinks and had two games each at a cost of £10.50 per head, which took about 1hour and 20 minutes to play. Not too many specialist bowlers amongst the group Embarassed although one achieved a score of 179!  It's a good type of event for inviting friends.
